Nurturing Writers &

Building Community

Since 2007

Our Mission:

We are a 501(c)3 Not-for-profit established in 2007. Our goal is to provide writers with a platform to refine their craft, boost their confidence, and immerse themselves in a supportive community. This thriving, artistic group ultimately helps them achieve their goals.

The Critique Group

The critique group is the bedrock of Evanston Writers Workshop.

Currently we have four types of Critique Groups:

· Our Fiction Group meets in the evenings on the first and third Wednesday of the month at Art Makers Outpost

in Evanston. critiques of 3k-word writing submissions.

· Our Creative Non-Fiction/Memior group meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month online via Zoom.

· Our Poetry group meets on the second Wednesday of the month at various locations in Evanston, check Meetup.

· Our Developmental editing group is slated to begin later this year.

We have members who publish literary fiction, creative non-fiction, children's literature, romance, hard-boiled crime, memoir, travel, poetry, humor and assorted forms of the unclassifiable.

Because we are fearless and a little nuts, we open our minds to anyone and any thing. We'll bend and stretch ourselves like soft licorice to dig your stuff. Most importantly, we'll help you get it published.

There is no censorship at the Evanston Writers Workshop, so the critique group is limited to those eighteen (18) years of age or older.

Before Submitting to any of the critique groups you must join Evanston Writers Workshop and pay your annual dues of $48. See how to pay dues here. Please attend at least 2 meetings before submitting.

To sign up for the critique group and be able to receive submissions please join the Meetup group at www.meetup.com/evanstonwriters
